| Talent Calibration - |
| Calibration is a human capital process to share and adjust talent decisions across a group of managers and executives accountable for people. This process is in contrast with the traditional individual manager making all decisions by him/herself without consultation or guidance from more experienced managers and executives within the company. Leading companies have taken a new view that such decisions are far too complex and important for individual managers to take on their own. Talent calibration requires managers to share their thoughts and ratings with other managers and human resources before performance ratings, salary recommendations, promotions, and disciplinary decisions are made. When well designed, calibration will improve most talent decisions. Other benefits include reviewing business strategy and operations status and how these two business processes link to individual and team performance and results. Additional benefits include increasing transparency of people across the organization for talent deployment and succession planning purposes. Download |
